The International Border Management and Technologies Association is delighted to announce that it will hold its inaugural conference at the Sheraton Hotel in Zagreb, Croatia on 15 – 17 May 2018.

The event will be hosted by Mr Zoran Niceno, Head of the Croatian Border police. Several Border Agencies and International Groups have confirmed their participation including representatives from EU LISA, Europol, UK Border Force, The Organisation for Security and Collaboration in Europe, the Czech Republic, Slovenia, Bosnia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Tajikistan, Kosovo and the EU delegation to Turkey. Several industry representatives will also be attending to discuss the latest advances in border technology, including at Paris, Istanbul and Vancouver airports.

The event will be chaired by Tony Smith CBE, chairman of IBMATA and former Director General of the UK Border Force.

I attend a great many conferences and events on Border Security and Border Management in different countries; and I know how important it is to bring government and industry representatives together in a spirit of mutual collaboration “said Mr Smith. “Croatia is the most recent country to join the EU; and is hugely significant as an external border to the Union. I am extremely grateful to Zoran for hosting our first official IBMATA event in Zagreb.”
